Note: This book is not written by Richard Scarry. He died in 1994 and this book was published in 2001. I didn't notice the publication date when I ordered this book, but when it arrived and I started reading it to my son, I thought the illustrations looked a little strange. The tone of the story is also very different from his other books. (It's much more silly--but not in a good way.) My son still enjoyed the book, but hasn't gone back to it over and over again like his other Richard Scarry books. I think it's very misleading they way this book is being marketed.

This is a thin paperback book that tells the story of a visit to the airport. In traditional Scarry fashion, it features chaotic, detailed illustrations with lots of objects/people labeled. It shows children how the airport works and teaches airport-related vocabulary. Of course, it includes many fantastical and ridiculous elements as well, which is what makes Scarry's books so much fun. Children just soak these books up... yes, there is a storyline, but there is so much to look at and talk about that it's not really the focus of the book. I love how my 2-year-old accepts the most absurd elements of the book (for example, the mustard blimp) with wide-eyed sincerity. It makes for an entertaining time for both parent and child.Like other Scarry books, this one has thin, cheap paper pages, which makes it less durable.The reason I took away two stars is that the book we received is printed in such a way that the left- and right-hand pages of each spread are misaligned, often by more than an inch. It doesn't detract from my son's enjoyment of the book, but it's not the quality I would expect.

I bought this for our plane trip for our 24 month old daughter. She was reading this in the airport while we pointed at everything in the book. It's relevant to a trip and a fun story too. I wish there more parts of the story that were of the inside of an airplane because the book lost its relevancy once we entered the plane. It was still great and she likes the story and how it ends. She was already familiar with Busytown, so the characters and mr Frumble were great carry overs for her to recognize.*update* This book is still a favorite and my daughter is now coming up on 4 years old. The book is very worn, and lost the last cover page, but we have kept it alive and well with tape. It's a regular favorite of my 2 year old son now too. This book is great. We are a Scarry fan club and have almost the entire collection of books. This is one of the favorites despite it's small size and few pages. It's a great, fun story!

Great picture/story book for all ages! So fun to really look at the subtle stories within the pictures that aren't actually part of the written story. My 5 year-old grandson and I were cracking up over the little guy (I think a pig) who was chasing his hat all over the place throughout the book! Read it over and over.

We bought this for our 3 year old to read before and on our recent flight. It made the time waiting at the airport more enjoyable because he could related everything he saw to something in the book. He loved the stickers too.

Hilarious book for my 3 yr old who has flown enough to recognize the different aspects of an airport but is delighted by all the jokes in the book. We've read it almost every night since we got it a couple weeks ago and we still find some little details we hadn't noticed before. Stickers add to the fun.

Let me first start by praising the author, Richard Scarry is a genius and this is a fantastic book that generations of our family have enjoyed. This printing however, is terrible. The paper is super thin to the point that you can see the drawings from the other side of the page coming through. The images are faded looking and look as if they were printed on a home inkjet printer. I paid about twice the amount I should have for this kind of quality.

I got this for my daughter to know something about what I do (I fly a lot for work). This is very outdated and nothing to do with real air travel. It has a giant hot dog balloon and things that do not make talking about air travel worth much. That is not the fault of the book... I am just saying, I don't like it as it does not really show "A Day at the Airport".

I really like what I am reading so far, I’m not finished but so far Jay really breaks a lot of things down about the art of rapping and the music industry. I think the illustrations are decent but I don’t really like the verses pages with the explanation of the word play in small print, I think it’s the small print that turns me off. Otherwise so far the book is great, I recommend it to anyone who likes Jay or just in love with Hip Hop. I also think Jay lets his guard down a lot in this book, talking about growing up in the Marcy Houses in Brooklyn during the birth of Hip Hop, coming of age during the Crack Epidemic and loving Big Daddy Kane in his Heyday. What I’ve learned is that Jay is a good listener and he pays attention to what’s going on around him, he’s not ashamed of his hustling past (which helped him evolve in the rap game and as a business man). Oh man I’m just loving this book so far. As I progress through the book I will add more to this review, stay tuned...

Jay-Z's contemporary rags-to-riches story is a more detailed, thorough, insightful, and powerful story than any kind of fiction you might read in an inspirational genre. This book is terrific reading for artists and entrepreneurs, especially, although anyone who wants to be inspired, as well as anyone with interest in his music, would enjoy it.The book consists of lyrics "decoded," where Jay-Z explains both where the song ideas came from and the way all the lyrics are connected to each other, as well as portions of his real-world story, rising from the Marcy Projects to a best-selling artist competitive with the Beatles in terms of how many #1 albums they've had.In particular interest to me were the chapters regarding his break-out crossover hit, "Hard Knock Life," and how Jay-Z had the realization that "Annie's story was my story." If I were a business professor or music teacher, I would make this required reading for students.

I'm not someone who has the patience to sit down and read often.A book has to be really compelling.I may be biased because Jay-Z is my favorite rapper and I do consider him the greatest ever.Furthermore,I find him to be a very interesting person in general.I got half way through the book and stopped because it's hard to focus on a book and plan a wedding simultaneously.So far I'm enjoying it,although some of the dialogue became redundant as for me being that I've seen so many interviews with Hova.That being said,there are some parts that are really fascinating and make me appreciate J as an artist even more.The book really can seperate the true intellectual hip hop head from the person who is a front runner or fan of ringtone rap.Fans of "today's hip-hop" probably won't appreciate it.PPL who connected with Jay's transition from street hustler to corporate hustler will embrace it...especially if you appreciate both aspects of his life.In other words,if you were as impressed with the lyrics in his Grammy Family Freestyle as you were with some of his earlier work (as I am),then you'll love this book.If you're narrow minded and you only care about his hustling days or the materialism associated with hip hop,it'll probably bore you and go over your head.I especially dig the dialouge describing him and a less than impressed reporter regarding his use of Che Guevarra rhetoric and memoribilia.To wrap things up,I don't have the attention span to read as often as I should but this book captivated me as long as any other has.It's a good read and I can't wait to pick it back up once my life returns to normalcy lol.

I re-purchased this ebook after losing access to it over the years of activating too many Kindle reader apps on the span of several different devices. The one reason I had interest in reading this book was simply on the fascination of the wealth of knowledge I remembered reading the first time + to reclaim the dominion of owning the publication once more. Shawn Carter [Jay Z]’s nuance of the type of life that he lived in light + hope to see a difference made in his life through the course of changes in it that life presents was inspirational and always is + has remained integral in my own life’s progression and advancement throughout the years passed.

This is one tale that only one person can tell about Jay-Z - Jay-Z himself. It shows enlightenement and leaves us; the audience to juxtapose it to just education. Priceless life experiences can set you on the right part. This is Hovi's politics, his street life, his mentality, his musical genius and other things you wanted to know about Jay. This is not a literary classic, its Jay-Z story, an impressive rendition of himself by himself. First hand look at some of Jay-Z's lyrics, why he sold drugs at a very young age, how he refused to accept that it cannot be done and proceeded to do it. Maybe Jay-Z's naysayers will see why he is respected by both underground and mainstream rap listeners, this is why, at least if you refused to listen to Jay, at least read this book. Form your own opinion, forget about hearsay. The way he makes use of homonyms kind of explains why it seems Jay can flow on any beat, he cares about the rhyming a lot, but most importantly the delivery of the message in the song. One artist that we wont forget in a hurry is Jay-Z, not just about his music, but about the choices he had to make in life and how he overcame from almost nothing.The only thing i have a problem with; why did you give it all away Jay? lol.

As far as the review technicalities, the book was easy to read. Andi explains things in a simple way so you don't need a degree in biology to understand it. Some good recipes and guidelines. It's more guidance than recipes; however, it's pretty much the basics of everything you need. In addition, she refers you to many other books by other authors to further your studies.How has this book impacted our lives? Angel, my 10 yr old German Shepherd Dog, has suffered from allergies for most of her life. Switching dog foods from this to that and different medicines. Up to this book, she was losing a large amount of hair due to skin allergies/infections, perianal fistulas due to allergies, constantly inflamed ears, and arthritis. Her main med was cyclosporine, but she'd occasionally cycle off to prednisone and some kind of anti-biotic for infections. Over long-term use of cyclosporine, her immune system was shot. She got the skin infection, eye infections, and bordatella immediately after a vet visit (and she had her bordatella vaccine less than a year before!) "Well, 10 is getting old for a GSD. She's just showing her age," people would say. It's true, 10 is getting old for a GSD, but I just looked at her and felt she had more.It's been a month since we've started Andi's regimen, and Angel has been off all her meds for exactly 2 weeks. Not only are her old allergy problems not coming back, but she acts like she's 6 or 7. Full of energy.Now, I'll be honest. It's a lot of work making your own dog food, but it can be done. I was already super busy and didn't think I could manage making dog food. I did and still do. The more I do it, the faster I get. My process gets better.Kudos to Andi for saving my Angel's life because this surely would have been her last year. If your dog has chronic issues, get the book and do what it says.

This book is a weekly program to improve your dog's health summarized as 1 fish oils, 2 stew (home cooking), 3 treats, 4 sun, 5 b-vitamins, 6 immunity, 7 teeth and bones, 8 spa. She starts with a 7 page pet portrait followed by weekly reports to track your pet's progress.There is some good advice about feeding and general care. The author includes recipes for an essential fatty acid supplement and a mineral mix.They both require a long list of ingredients not readily available unless you live in a decent size town with a health food store or like ordering on the internet. There are a couple commercial versions from Halo that are more affordable than making it all yourself. The fatty acid supplement ingredients and the chicken stew recipe have changed since the book's publication. The new formulas are available on her website along with a lot of information.I contacted Andi about her recommendation of brewers yeast in the mineral mix and she was very quick to respond. It is an interesting read with a great way to track progress. Instead of the 6-7 ingredient recipe for a beautiful coat, I'm starting with a good quality fish oil and see where we go from there.

After getting fed up with uneducated vets who know nothing about nutrition-and shrug and blame things on "old age" and hand me CRAP Science food which has NEVER healed ONE Of my animals-- I sought out some books on dog nutrition, and started going to Dog Barkery in Downers Grove for their amazing dog stews. I knew from reading several of Dr. Fuhrman's books like Eat to LIve how to cure myself of aches, pains, inflammation, nearly everything. That book is also a must read for people. I realized that the same could be done for my pets.I read the book which was totally saying what I already thought: dry pet food is garbage food, is full of empty carbs that cause weight gain and all kind of health ailments in dogs that NEVER existed many years ago when dogs were fed table scraps and human food-back when people actually didn't eat junk and make home made meals.I only give my dog raw food from Northwest naturals, home made stews, canned stews and human food. The cats get cat broth and stews from various companies and I have started making the recipes from the book which my cats go crazy for. It took their stomach time to get used to it but no more puking every other day.The Dry food TOTALLY causes constant puking-Esp when you leave it out all day. As the book explains you are NOT supposed to leave out any food for your animals because it will cause them to not digest their food correct and I found this tip to be the absolute best when it comes to curing my several cat issues. This book is a Godsend for all of us dog owners and pet owners who know the vet world is lazy and doctors too.There is also a total direct conflict in my opinion of vets who are pushing products. No vets should be selling food to try to make extra money. I highly recommend this book, and its recipes. You will find that following these simple principles totally change your dog and cat's health.

The author gives several examples of companies who have accelerated earnings, delayed expenses and booked what should have been operational cash flow as cash flow used for investing activities. This is good and helpful. But what the book does not do is show you where you can find such information in the quarterly or annual shareholder reports. Where would I go to find information that would lead me to understand that the company is selling its A/R and what wording is typically used that would suggest A/R has been sold?And one constructive suggestion to the author....most who will want to read your book are sophisticated enough to know the basics of financial statements and are likely interested in getting into the 'meat' of the shenanigan. But you often begin chapters or descriptive sections of a chapter with somewhat lengthy quaint metaphorical examples as a lead in to the shenanigan you're about to address. As I progressed through the book, I found this distracting and would skip those pages. I appreciate keeping the book interesting and non-boring, but sometimes a little bit of analogous description goes a long way :-)Otherwise, this is a very good book on this subject.

I personally loved this book for the following reasons:Very clear graphics to follow.Very clear break down of how companies manage money inappropriately.Easy to follow and actually a fun read from a typically dull subject.If anything the only two downsides from this book are below:The transitions between sections and sub sections are repetitive, and a little annoying.The author occasionally talks down to the reader, and I think this is unintentional.The overall content, author knowledge, and easy to read breakdown of accounting gimmicks gets a 5 from me.
