This was well written and the storyline was great. A thrilling story featuring very interesting characters. The tension stays high from start to finish. Keeps you wondering who did it. The world of main character Jillian shattered, her longtime relationship fell apart and in the meantime she has to deal with a killer that made her town unsafe for women. She needs to find the killer not only very quickly but she had to do it with a team that was not very happy with her. Gradually, she was able to gain the support of her team and also to win back the heart of a gorgeous woman. The final twist was unexpected and I hope that the sequel is on the way. My advice, read it!
A tough, gritty murder mystery story. I liked that this wasn't a "lesfic romance novel", rather focused on the murder mystery. I also liked how the author showed the relationship issues of the main protagonist & , police for that matter, with all the odd hours and the stress dealing with the bad guys.
I think i was a little surprised by this one. Having read quiet a few of the author's works to date i found there were some expectations and some things i was taking for granted, the ending, the style perhaps and a feel to the storyline. But this was a bit of a surpriseGrowing up in the 90's in the Uk you would know all of those gritty detective shows, where nothing is ever really simple, and if the good guys do win in the end sometimes it doesn't feel like a win. its so dark yet seductive no matter how many times we see it. This novel seemed to capture that mood well. A killer, preying on women, and a copycat killer. A nightmarish scenario for a detective whose own life seems so hard, so emotionally fraught with personal issues while she tries to keep her mind on the hunt.It sounds like there could be another book, maybe more in this one. and its one for those of us who watched all those detective tv shows and thought wow, is this going to end happy? you know it wont but you just have to keep looking anyway.
I thought this was a great book. I loved the characters and the ability that Shiralyn has to keep your interest peaked to the point you should be sleeping but you just have to know. I cannot wait to start the second book!!
I loved this book and cannot wait for the next installment! It is a well written book and a page turner. My only question (a VERY picky and minor point) - was the makeup Channel or Chanel? Since I'm in the US, I assumed it to be a UK thing! LOL. Nonetheless, I enjoyed this book completely and am hoping that the next installment appears quickly! Shiralyn Lee, are you listening? Please write it faster! :)
This was a good book. It held my interest. Always like women in important leadership roles. I will definitely continue reading this series.
Really enjoyed this book. Great story line and was detailed very well. It had enough going on a long the way to keep me interested. It is hard for me to finish a book if I loose interest or get bored with it. Not the case with this one. Would recommend to any who like detective type stories. Can't wait to read the next one to see what happens next.
I really enjoyed reading this book. A good detective story with just enough romance thrown in for good measure. It kept my interest and was happy with the outcome. First time reading anything from this author but it will most definitely not be my last.
