About the Author
In the early 1940s, a loving father crafted a small blue wooden engine for his son, Christopher. The stories that this father, Reverend W. Awdry, made up to accompany this wonderful toy were first published in 1945. He continued to create new adventures and characters until 1972, when he retired from writing. Reverend Awdry died in 1997 at the age of 85.Tommy Stubbs is an illustrator. His works include The Birthday Express!, A Crack in the Track, and Blue Mountain Mystery. My 26 month old loved to carry this book. I docked it a star for two reasons. The first is that the title is misleading. I assumed it would be similar to Go Dog Go, but it is not...at all. The second is that it's a little wordy and my toddler tried to turn the page before I'm finished reading. He doesn't do that to his other Thomas books. So that tells me he's not that interested in what it has to say, or it's too long.
my toddler grandchild loves this book, and plenty of pages that can become responsive readings. now we look for logs and hats.
Bought for grandson and he loved it. Great quality!
Every moment my 2 year old sees it, is a moment he's ready to have this book read to him. .. especially before bed time
We started reading this book to our oldest son when he was a baby. All of my children have loved this book. I used to work nights at a hospital (going in at 7 pm and working til 7 am) My son wouldn't go to sleep without ME reading this to him. My husband would call me at work at his bedtime and I would quote it to him and he would go right to sleep.Now my youngest son (2) is also obsessed with trains (especially Thomas) and I read him this as well. We have it on multiple devices and of course the hard back book. I see him sitting staring at the device or book quoting the book to himself. <3
I actually tried to order this in hardcover but was also watching football and bought it for my Kindle. It is fun to read with the grandkids and let them swipe to turn the pages. I haven't had the courage to let them drive the kindle solo.
We loved this one. Super cute story, pictures & great quality.
My sons are HUGE fans of Thomas & Friends and they love this book. I personally find it rather dull, but its still a cute little story about Thomas trying to get the judge to the train show on time. She tells him to "Go, Train, Go!" but just when Thomas gets going "faster than fast," something slows him down. My kids totally anticipate what it's going to be: "Logs! A dark tunnel! A cow!" This story has a charming ending, and my boys always want to read it again.
