Not only was it a treasure trove of information on the copper scrolls, it also included information about the ancient Hebrews, Moses, and much more.

Loved it...food for thought. Well written and very illuminating

A little different but, very good

Robert Feather is right on in his belief and research connecting Joseph son of Israel and Pharaoh Akhenaten. I had already came to that conclusion before reading this book from my own research.

I love the way Robert Feather writes, no theological confusion of philosophies here. I love the way he has put the pieces of his jigsaw puzzle together. Although you might not agree with all his conclusions he certainly presents a convincing argument. For anyone interested in our links to ancient Egypt, specifically with the 18th dynasty, who has an interest in the origins of the Bible stories and a fascination with the Dead Sea Scrolls, this book will certainly tantalize your enquiring tastebuds. And, there is treasure and a treasure hunt involved along side deeply spiritual teachings that have been found and lost and now in the 21st century found again. Perhaps the treasure is more in the teachings than in the gold.

A scholarly page-turner I couldn't put down. Establishes the links between the monotheism of Akenaten and Judaism. Unique among the Dead Sea Scrolls, the copper scroll lists the locations of priceless temple treasures, which Feather shows are hidden not in Judea, but in Akenaten's city, modern Tel-el-Amarna, Egypt. Only Egypt used copper and had the technology to rivet the thin copper plates together. Informative, readable and well-documented research. Feather is both a metalurgist and a scholar.

The author treats biblical characters such as Abraham, Moses, etc., as actual historical persons when they probably never existed. His sources for descriptions of Akhenaten are mostly books from the earlier part of the 20th Century, printed before World War II, and thus inaccurate. My main objection is to the nine "Links with Judaism" where most of his deductions are mistaken.1 Worship of one God. This is true. Akhenaten is the first known person in history to espouse monotheism. Did Judaism derive monotheism from Amarna? Ultimately yes.2 Forbid graven images. Yes, images of what the Pharaoh considered "false gods". But not images of the Aten Disc or of the Royal Family (of which there were many).3 Abandonment of "death worship". The ancient Egyptians didn't worship death; they loved life so much that they believed that it continued in postmortem existence, and so made sure of it by funereal customs.4 Burial without any worldly goods. Akhenaten had an elaborate sarcophagus made for himself as well as "shabtis" (the little statues that were to do his labor in the afterlife). He had the Royal Tomb prepared for himself, Nefertiti, and their daughters, intended to contain most of the trappings of any Royal burial.5 Abandonment of animal sacrifices. No. There is one carving showing the Pharaoh twisting the neck of a duck or goose.6 Universality of worship. No. Atenism was apparently intended for the Royal Family and the nobles. The vast majority of Egyptians were illiterate farmers who didn't figure much in the King's reckoning.7 Monogamy. No way. Like any Pharaoh, Akhenaten had a harem. Nefertiti was his "Great Wife", his equal on the throne & in worship, and apparently his true love and soulmate. But he had other wives and at least one son (Tut) by some other wife.8 Rejection of magic, sorcery, & charms. Probably true.9 Worship centered on a temple. Actually it was worship centered on temples; there were at least two at Amarna.I suggest that Mr. Feather read the following book:CITY OF AKHENATEN & NEFERTITI BARRY KEMP THAMES & HUDSON 2012
